Maybe a bad one, but doesn’t cool very well,
Ordered this because of the great capacity (11,500 BTU) but was disappointed when I finally had to use it. Purchased it late 2009 but didn’t need it until summer 2010. Probably should have hooked it up and tried it right away, but didn’t.
Fan works great but the unit doesn’t get cold at all, just blows air that is a little bit cooler than the room. I checked all the setting and read the manual so pretty sure it’s not pilot error.
Went to Costco and got a Sharp unit for less that works great. I’d send this back but too late so I’m stuck. Don’t buy this unit, it doesn’t work.

I own this air conditioner for two years.
I don’t know what the other reviewer is talking about.
It is VERY loud, it not efficient at all. It’s not Energy Star, it does not properly cool down my 20′ x 10′ room.
Very cheap construction.
I bought it just because, being a Friedrich, I thought it had to be good but this is so far from being the truth.
There are so many good items around that, next time I will definitely avoid this brand.
Shame on Friedrich.

|Excellent Machine,
I picked this up last year in 2010 to supplement my condo’s central AC because it was in the process of going out. (Leaking evaporator core). Let me just say this thing works great, easily cooled the den that it is in and just about cooled the whole rest of my condo (about 900 square feet) with ease. I don’t understand the other reviews concerning reliability issues because this thing ran all last summer just about all day and night without a hitch. I just cleaned the air filter and now using it again! One other thing I would like to mention is that the window attachment is very easy to install and is very inconspicuous from the outside for those of us that don’t want anything unsightly hanging out their windows. The unit also rolls from room to room very easily if needed. Thank you Friedrich for making an excellent 2 hose unit and keep up the good work. If I ever need another one of these this will be the one.
